Description
Frenches Farm Brewhouse is an outbuilding located 5 meters northeast of the main house. It dates back to the early 13th century and was altered in the 16th century. The structure is a single storey, timber-framed and plastered building, topped with a red plain tiled roof. It consists of three bays and features a side purlin roof with a collar for each pair of rafters, which replaced the original crown post. The roof shows heavy sooting. The top plate has a plain splayed scarf joint. Inside, there is a central mid-16th century chimney place with a stop-chamfered beam, which was used in the brewhouse.
