Description

Nos 40 and 42 on Highbridge Street are a pair of buildings dating from 1767, although they feature a 19th-century front added to an earlier structure. The buildings are finished in stucco and have an old and machine tiled roof with two parallel ridges. They stand three storeys high and each has three sash windows. Number 40 includes a 19th-century shop front with glazing bars, while number 42 has an earlier 19th-century shop front that features an entablature supported by consoles and panelled Doric pilasters. These buildings, along with Nos 36 to 44, form a cohesive group.
