Description
Little Tawney Hall is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, featuring a 19th-century red brick facing. The building has a double range roof covered with red plain tiles. It showcases a high-quality timber frame and is roofed with reused sooted medieval timbers that have unique notch laps. The house is two storeys tall and has a three-window range of 19th-century vertical sliding sashes with horns, set beneath gauged brick arches. There are brackets supporting the projecting eaves, and the central entrance consists of a four-panelled door with a light above it. An open gabled porch with brick supporting columns leads to the door, and the gable is adorned with bargeboards. Red brick chimney stacks are located on both the left and right sides of the building. Inside, there is a semi-circular original red brick fireplace in the bedroom, and the top plates feature bladed scarfs.
