Description
Newhouse Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, but it incorporates parts of an earlier structure. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and features a four-window range of 19th-century casements. There is a simple flat canopy over the door and a lean-to extension at the south end. At the rear, there is a single-storey wing also covered with a red plain tile roof. The west end has a 17th-century red brick chimney stack with attached diagonal shafts, while the east end features an 18th-century red brick chimney stack. Inside, there is some 17th-century panelling along with general 19th-century detailing. The farmhouse is situated on a moated site.
