Description
Church House is a house dating from around 1600 and possibly earlier. It has an H-plan layout, with the front elevation being roughcast and painted. The south crosswing features a brick front in English bond with a Dutch gable. There are two windows that are one over one, made with stone mullions and transoms that have ovolo moulding. The front of the hall includes a door set in an eared and pedimented timber case. The hall windows are also one over one, with iron casements in timber mullions and transoms, and there is a small casement window to the right on the first storey. The north crosswing has windows that are one over one, with pairs of casements and transoms. The roofs are ridged and gabled, covered with peg tiles. The hall has a chimney stack made of red brick with three diagonal shafts, and there is a later red brick chimney stack against the north crosswing.
