Description

Churchman's Farmhouse is an early 16th-century timber-framed and plastered house located in Messing-cum-Inworth. It has two storeys and features a red plain tile roof. The farmhouse includes a gabled cross wing with a jetty at the north end. The front has a three-window range of 18th-century vertical sliding double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The original frame is exposed on the cross wing, showcasing curved wall bracing. There are 19th-century red brick chimneys, and modern extensions have been added to the south and rear. Inside, the original frame includes stop-chamfered beams and a crown post roof in the cross wing.
