Description

The cast-iron water pump, dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century, was made by Joseph Evans and Sons of Wolverhampton. It features a cast-iron column with a water spout that projects from near the top, which has a notched section for hanging a bucket. To the right of the spout is a long, slightly curved handle. The upper part of the column is fluted and is topped with a decorative fluted dome and a pointed finial. The side of the column displays a lion rampant, which is the maker's mark of Joseph Evans and Sons. The pump is painted black and has a small stone basin underneath to catch any surplus water.
