Description

Spartigans Hall is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, originally a 2-bay end chimneystack house. It was extended in the 18th century with a lower kitchen wing, and a further L-shaped wing was added in the 19th century, with a rear extension. The building is timber framed and rendered, with a steeply pitched roof now covered in corrugated iron sheeting. A central stack is constructed of stock brick. Later casement windows are set to the front. A 1-storey 18th-century L-shaped wing has a hipped roof and a renewed chimneystack, with a catslide roof to the rear.

The interior includes an open brick fireplace with a cambered wooden bressummer and an entrance to a bread oven. Axial beams are stop-chamfered with run-out stops. Two original 17th-century mullioned windows, originally external, are now located internally; the first floor windows retain original glass. An open fireplace is present within the 18th-century L wing.
