Description
Button Hall is an 18th-century house that has been extended in the 20th century. It is timber-framed and plastered, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The building has a rectangular plan oriented northwest to southeast, featuring a stack in each end wall, positioned in front of the axis. There are large 20th-century extensions to the north, northeast, and east. The southwest elevation displays three casement windows on each floor, with one window replacing a former central doorway. A 20th-century door is located on the southeast elevation, and there is a 20th-century external stack on the northwest elevation. The extensions are roofed with machine-made red clay tiles. Inside, some pine framing is exposed. The house is reported to have been identified in court rolls around 1790, associated with Fouchers Manor.
