Description
The stable block, located 8 meters north of Mascalls, is an early 19th-century structure made of red brick with a slate roof. It is a long rectangular building that is single-storeyed. The central section features a pediment and is flanked by lower side wings that have hipped roofs. The door and window openings are adorned with gauged brick voussoirs. To the east, there is an extension built in a similar style, and to the west, there is a pantiled lean-to.
The central block has a pair of two-leaved doors, which have been renewed, set in blind round arched recesses. The pediment includes a central round window. Each side wing has a central door, also renewed in the 20th century, with semicircular windows on either side, all set in blind recesses. Above each wing, there is a ventilating cowl. The eastern addition features a 20th-century two-leaved door and a segment-headed window with a fixed pane. The stable block is part of a group with Mascalls.
