Description
The structure is a waterwheel and its mounting, located approximately 23 metres south-west of Feeringbury Manor. It dates from the 19th century and is made of iron. The overshot wheel has a diameter of about 1.25 metres and features eight round spokes. It was originally powered by overflow from a spring-fed pond and used to drive two water pumps. While the drive wheels on each side are still present, the cylinder, piston, and connecting rod for each pump are missing. The wheel was found to be rotating freely during a survey in August 1986.
