Description
Blamsters is a building dating from the 15th and 16th centuries, originally known as Blamster's Farm. It features a central hall with cross wings, and the upper storey of the southeast cross wings projects at both the front and back. The building is two storeys high with attics, constructed with timber framing and plaster, and has tiled roofs. The windows are a mix of double-hung sashes and casements. The cross wing is of particularly high quality, showcasing heavily moulded and crenellated beams. It retains original windows with diagonal mullions. Inside, there is an octagonal crown post with a bell foot and scotia capital, supported by four braces. The hall dates to the late 16th century, and the roofs are gabled, covered in plain red tiles, with a gabled dormer.
