Description

This barn, located 18 metres southeast of Pannels Ash Farmhouse, dates back to the early 15th century and has undergone some alterations. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, with a roof clad in corrugated iron and constructed with side purlins. The barn consists of six bays and is aisled on both sides. Notable architectural details include jowled storey posts, some added serpentine braces, a bridled scarf joint, and a chamfered soffit tie beam. The barn has a 19th-century timber floor and is recognized for its good lower frame, contributing to its group value context. It is mentioned in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, volume 5.
