Description
Old Beach Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed from local red and yellow brick and features plain tile roofs with two ridge stacks. The building has two storeys and attics, with two wings extending to the east. The southeast wing is a 20th-century replacement of the original timber-framed service wing, while the northeast wing includes a gabled stair turret at the angle.
The east facade displays red and yellow brick banding at the first and attic floors, along with square-headed labels above the original window openings. The northeast wing has one casement window, a gabled dormer window, two casement windows, and a garden window. The stair turret features two three-light windows, and the main range has one first-floor casement window and a twelve-paned ground floor window. There is a modern entrance on the left side, set within an open porch.
Although the interior was not seen in 1984, it is noted to have fine ceiling beams and a spiral staircase. Clunch and limestone materials have been reused in the building, possibly sourced from Chamberlains Manor.
