Description
Brookend Close is a house dating from the early 18th century that has been extended. It features a timber frame, is rendered, and has a tiled roof with an original red brick ridge stack. The building has a single range, three-bay lobby entry plan oriented end to the road and stands two storeys high. The fenestration is scattered and modern. There is a doorway on the northeast side leading to the original lobby entry. Inside, the timber framing is exposed, showcasing staggered studwork over bracing and plain unjowled heads to the main posts. The roof has side purlins. There is an inglenook hearth, which has been rebuilt, and a smaller parlour hearth in the room at the southeast end. Additionally, there is a small 18th-century red brick hearth in the chamber above the parlour.
