Description
Pettitts Barn and The Old Byre is a 17th-century barn that has been converted from a group of farm buildings into domestic use, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The structure is timber framed and covered in weatherboarding, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped to the left. The former entrance, which had double doors facing west, is now blocked by an internal plastered wall, but there is a first-floor horizontal sliding sash window. A 20th-century red brick chimney stack is located on the left side, with another stack positioned behind the ridge to the right of center. Inside, the barn features four timber framed bays. The barn is connected to The Old Byre, which was formerly used as stables and a loft, and has also been converted for domestic use, although it is in separate ownership.
