Description

This is a cottage, possibly dating back to the 17th century, which was divided into smaller dwellings during the 18th and 19th centuries and extended later in the 19th century. It is timber-framed with rendered walls and a thatched roof made of combed wheat reed, with a ridge stack and an end stack that is now internal due to the later west-end extension. The cottage is a single range with a lobby entry. It has one storey and an attic, featuring one dormer window. Three doorways and windows are currently boarded, reflecting the subdivision of the property, although the original doorway to the lobby entry remains intact. A single-bay extension to the west has timber framing with boarded walls and a low-pitched slate roof, extending to two storeys.
