Description
The Grange is a cottage with origins dating back to the 17th century, but most of its structure is from 1787. The building features some timber framing in the rear range, while the front range facing the road and most of the rear range are constructed from yellow gault brick, with some red brick used for the end walls. It has tiled roofs with tumbled end parapets, a dentil eaves cornice, and end stacks. The cottage is one storey with an attic and includes four 20th-century dormers at the front. There are three 20th-century hung sash windows with segmental arches in their original openings. A reeded doorcase from around 1840 is present, along with a 20th-century canopy. The left-hand stack features a recessed panel that may have originally displayed the date, which is said to be 1787.
