Description
No. 102 High Street is a house dating from the late 17th century, with a minimal addition from the 19th century. It is timber framed and rendered, featuring steeply pitched tiled roofs and a ridge stack located at the junction of the front and rear sections. The building has a T-plan layout, with a rear kitchen wing that extends to the side. It stands two storeys tall, and the side elevation includes three hung sash windows from the 19th to 20th centuries on the first floor. The main entrance has been moved to the rear wing, but there is a full-length casement window that may occupy the original entry's location. Inside, the timber framing is exposed, showing downward wall bracing on the end walls. One room contains an ogee moulded main beam, which lacks stops, indicating it may be reused. Additionally, part of the hearth features late 17th century red bricks.
