Description

This smock mill, built around 1805, is located approximately 10 meters north of Mill House (No. 20) on Ashwell Road in Steeple Morden. The mill features a gault brick octagonal base with tapering octagonal timber-frame walls that are partly weatherboarded and covered with metal sheets and tar. It has an ogee cap topped with a ball finial, although the sails and tail sails have been removed. The structure stands three storeys high, with two double boarded doors on the ground floor and boarded doors above on the first floor, along with two lights in the upper storey. The interior does not contain the original machinery.
