Description

The Porch House, dated 1632 as shown on the lintel above the doorway, is a timber-framed building situated on the High Street in Offord Cluny. Originally, only the wall facing the road remained of the original timber frame. The house now comprises two 17th-century, two-storey splayed bays with modern windows. A gabled porch provides the main entrance; it has been altered but retains egg and dart moulding and some surviving 17th-century framing. The original door features nine sunken, square panels. The roof is tiled, with the addition of two later gabled dormers. A single-storey wing to the north, dating to the late 17th century, is timber-framed with two bays and a half-hipped roof.
