Description
East Lodge and West Lodge to Houghton Poultry Research Station were built in 1897 and 1901. These two lodges flank the driveway to Houghton Grange and are almost identical in design. They are one storey with an attic, constructed from red brick featuring diaper patterns in darker bricks. The lodges have a deep moulded dentil eaves cornice, plain tiled roofs, and an internal stack. Each lodge has an open flat-roofed porch with two recessed seats, a half-glazed door, and flanking windows.
