Description

This is a range of three houses dating to approximately 1611-13, located on Cambridge Street, Godmanchester. Number 62 is specifically dated 1611. The houses are timber-framed, with some of the frame exposed and some plastered on the upper floor and part of the lower floor. A section of the lower floor is brick. The roof is tiled. The houses are two storeys high, with the upper storey projecting across the street frontage. A gabled cross wing is present on the west and a projecting gable is prominent. Two original chimneys, multi-shafted, are a feature; the eastern chimney bears the date 1613. There are eight windows in total, with two oriels at the west end. Number 59 incorporates a later two-window addition on the east, which has a lower roofline.
