Description
Fenton Manor Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse built in an H-plan. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tiled roof with a modillion eaves cornice and a small gable at the center. The gables have tumbled parapets, and there are end stacks. The building is two stories high with attics and has a band course between the storeys. The symmetrical northwest elevation has five hung sash windows with glazing bars set in flat, rusticated brick arches. There are four similar windows on the ground floor surrounding a central doorway. The doorway has an elliptical head and is enclosed by a shouldered architrave with an enriched frieze above. It is topped with a flat canopy supported by carved scroll brackets and pilasters with recessed panels. Inside, there is a closed-string staircase with three flights, featuring turned balusters, square section newel posts, and a moulded rail. The northeast ground-floor room has raised panelling, a moulded cornice, and a niche with a half round head.
