Description

This is an early 18th-century house, originally three storeys with a parapet, now reduced to two storeys. It is constructed of red brick with plain tiled and cement tiled roofs, topped with a boarded eaves cornice. There are two 16th-century end stacks, one with a brick chimney inscribed "1T(A)" in Tudor lettering. The front has a seven-window range of hung sashes with segmental heads. A moulded brick band separates the floors. Four similar windows with stepped brick voussoirs are at ground floor level, flanking slim 19th-century doorways with semi-circular arches and panelled doors. The original 18th-century doorway is within a semi-circular arch with a sealed fanlight and a moulded architrave, also containing a panelled door. Sealed windows with stepped voussoirs are located in each gable end. The rear of the house features two pairs of linked parallel wings. The first-floor room on the right has raised and fielded panelling and a moulded cornice. The fireplace within this room has fluted pilasters and a Doric frieze, decorated with rosette patera on the metopes.
