Description

Lancewood is a house from the early 19th century, built of brown brick with broad mortar courses and tuck pointing. It features a slate roof with end stacks and has an L-shaped plan. The building stands two storeys high with attics, showcasing a plain eaves cornice and a band between the storeys. The five mid-19th century hung sash windows have single vertical glazing bars in open boxing, with sills and gauged brick arches that include raised key blocks. The central doorway is framed by a stone pedimented doorcase with plain pilasters and a pulvinated frieze, leading to a six-panelled door topped by a rectangular fanlight.
