Description
The Baptist Chapel is a non-conformist chapel built in 1829 and enlarged in 1838, featuring a gable end facing the road. It is constructed of yellow gault brick and has a slate roof with a parapetted gable end supported by kneelers. The road elevation is designed in two stages, with two recessed hung sash windows on either side of a round-headed window. The central doorway has a doorcase made of incised pilaster strips, a narrow hood, and panelled reveals. The entrance includes panelled double doors and a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. Additionally, there are two iron bootscrapers set into the wall. Inside, the chapel is galleried on three sides.
