Description
The gates and gate piers at the main entrance of Anglesey Abbey date from the early 19th century and were originally located at the Port of London Authority before being moved to their current site in 1926. The gate piers are made of rusticated Portland Limestone and are topped with lions seated and holding shields of arms. The wooden boarded gates, which have swept upper edges, are likely from the 20th century.
