Description

This barn, located to the east of Burgh Hall, dates from the late 16th century. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, featuring a half-hipped thatched roof that is currently covered with corrugated iron. The structure consists of five bays and is aisled. Inside, the roof remains intact and is constructed using Queen post design, with curved wind bracing connecting the principal rafters to the side purlins. The tops of the arcade posts are jowled, and there is curved bracing from the posts to the tie beams, as well as from the wall posts to the aisle ties.
