Description
Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 16th century, with late 17th century and early 18th century elements, and was refronted in the mid 19th century. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with local red brick and mid 19th century red brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles and is hipped at the front elevation, supported by two internal red brick stacks and a gable end stack. The building has two storeys and originally had a three-unit plan, with a late 17th century kitchen wing to the west and an early 18th century addition at the north angle, both of which were refronted on the north and west elevations in the mid 19th century. The north facade has three bays, with three first floor twelve-paned hung sash windows in near flush frames. There are also two flat-roofed canted bay windows with hung sashes and glazing bars. The entrance features a recessed half-glazed panelled door with a plain pilastered doorcase and a panelled hood. Inside, the original building's exposed stop-chamfered ceiling beams and timber frame are visible.
