Description
The entrance screen to the First Court of Peterhouse is a Grade I listed structure built in 1751. It features two stone gateways with round-headed archways, flanked by Tuscan pilasters and topped with pedimented entablatures. The wrought-iron gates have plain vertical bars and decorative scroll-work. In 1848, the wall that used to be between the gateways was taken down and replaced with railings that have plain uprights and spiked cresting, which resemble the existing railings on either side.
