Description
Fort St George Public House is a 16th-century building that has undergone alterations and additions in the 19th century and later. It features a timber-framed structure that is rendered and painted, with parts refaced or rebuilt in brick, particularly on the east and west gables and the ground floor south front. The building has two storeys, with modern casement windows—three on the ground floor and five on the first floor—along with one small-paned sash window. Originally designed in a T-shaped plan, it has been expanded with 19th-century additions. The first floor overhangs on curved timber brackets, and there are some chamfered ceiling beams inside. A prominent central brick stack is present, and the roof is covered with old tiles.
