Description
Mill Haven, also known as East House, is a house located on Mill Lane, dating from around 1775. It is three storeys tall and constructed of red brick, featuring a painted plaster band at the first floor level and a moulded wood cornice beneath the parapet. The building has four windows with moulded flush frames and glazing bars, along with shutters on the ground floor. The entrance includes a wood doorcase on the right, adorned with Ionic pilasters and an entablature that has a dentilled cornice. The door is an eight-panelled design set in a semi-circular head, complemented by an ornamental metal fan-light. Inside, the entrance hall showcases a plaster quadripatite vault, reset early 17th century panelling, and a notable staircase. The dining room retains original late 18th century fittings. Mill Haven is part of a group with Nos 12 to 14, which are in consecutive order.
