Description
House, built between 1930 and 1933, designed by Vladimir Karfik and Frantizek Gahura, and constructed by various local contractors. This building, of group value, is one of a pair of gateway buildings on Bata Avenue and forms a group with numbers 4 to 34 (even) Bata Avenue. It is a hybrid construction featuring a flat roof and front and side walls of concrete, poured in sections approximately one metre high; interior partition and rear walls are brick faced in concrete. The design is in the International Style, with a two-storey, four-window arrangement, including a half-landing window centred above the main entrance. Entrances are on the side returns. A thin projecting cornice runs along the top. All window and door openings are flat arched.
