Description

These two cottages, 44 and 45 Eastern Esplanade, form part of a terrace and were likely built in the 18th or early 19th century. They are rectangular in plan and two storeys high, with a basement level. The buildings have a three-window facade and a shallow-pitched slate roof, with decorative ridge stacks at each end. The exterior is of painted brick. The principal elevation features symmetrically placed double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, set in plain reveals. The central bay on the ground floor is recessed, providing access via a short flight of steps to the entrances of each cottage. A single doorway is located centrally between the cottage entrances and provides access to storage. The interiors have not been inspected.
