Description

40-43 Eastern Esplanade is a two-storey terrace building with an E-shaped plan, featuring wings at the rear on both ends and in the center. The terrace is timber-framed with weatherboard cladding, although No. 43 is now faced in plaster. The roof is covered with slate. The terrace has six window bays in total, with Nos. 40 and 41 set back in the center, each having hipped roofs and one window range above. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, and No. 42 has louvred shutters. The doorway to No. 42 is recessed on the ground floor and is sheltered by an open porch. The interior has not been inspected.
