Description
These are a row of almshouses located on North Street in Leighton Buzzard, originally built in 1630 and rebuilt in 1857. The rebuilding incorporated 17th-century inscribed stone panels. The building is constructed of yellow brick with stone dressings, and has a tiled roof. It is in a Tudor style, with two storeys and eight flush lattice casement windows. The ground floor windows have three lights, while the first-floor windows have two lights, each set under a gable. The right end wall is of rubble and has two additional stone panels. Nos 37 to 51 form a group.
