Description
The Old Manor is a late 16th century or early 17th century house located on Harrold High Street. It is constructed from rubble with a red tile roof and has an L-shaped plan. The south wing features two storeys and attics, with the west gable end showcasing ornamental stone coping and a moulded string course at the first floor. Both the ground and first floors have five-light leaded casements, while the attic has a three-light similar window, all with stone mullions and transoms. There are drip moulds above the first floor and attic windows. The east gable end is adorned with decorated moulded kneelers and three crow steps leading to the bottom of the gable. The north wing, added later, is one storey with attics and includes a single gabled attic dormer on the north elevation. Inside, the ground floor features an original oak overmantel carved with arcaded panels and strapwork, along with fluted friezes on both the overmantel and the bressumer below. There is also a panelled partition from the later 17th century that incorporates original panels.
