Description
No. 16A on Luton Road is a cottage dating from the late 18th century, with a 19th-century cottage ornee addition. The building features colourwashed roughcast and thatched roofs. It has a two-room plan, is one storey high with attics, and includes a single-storey lean-to addition on the southeast gable end.
On the southwest elevation, the main block has a two-light casement window on the left with a thatched eyebrow, and a 20th-century glazed door on the right with a thatched gabled hood. The lean-to has a pointed arched Gothic Revival window with wooden bar tracery and diamond leading, as well as a small circular window with leading. A red brick double ridge stack is present.
On the southeast gable end, there are two similar Gothic Revival windows in the lean-to, and two two-light casement windows in the attic, both featuring glazing bars and thatched eyebrows.
