Description
Bushmead Priory House is a house dating from around 1700, with the eastern end rebuilt in the 1970s. It is constructed of red brick and features an old clay tile roof. The facade is symmetrical, with two storeys and attics. On the south elevation, there is one blocked window and two flush sash windows with glazing bars on the left side of the ground floor. The first floor on the left side has three original wood mullion and transom windows, along with one similar window in the centre, all set under flat arches. The right side has three sash windows on the ground floor and three mullion and transom windows on the first floor, designed to mimic those on the left but set under cambered heads. There are two gabled dormers, each with two-light horizontal sashes featuring glazing bars. The central front door has a moulded surround and a cut bracketed hood. A red brick multiple ridge stack is located off-centre, and there is a 1738 Sun Insurance plaque above the door.
