Description

The Bedford Gallery, located at 831 Castle Lane, dates from around 1800 and is attributed to John Wing. It is constructed of red brick and features a gabled Welsh slate roof with an eaves cornice. The building has two storeys and an attic, with sill and impost bands. There is a central projection with a symmetrical arrangement of windows: two round-headed windows on either side of four in the middle, all with glazing bars set in reveals and stucco voussoirs. The structure also has a cement plinth. Originally, it served as a militia depot.
