Description
The Rectory and Spinney Hill are a late 17th-century rectory, significantly altered in the 19th century, and a subsequent, smaller house, formerly part of the rectory. The Rectory is constructed of roughcast limestone rubble with a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys and has attics. The south (garden) elevation features a central gabled attic dormer set high within the roof slope, three first-floor sash windows with glazing bars above a first-floor band. A central doorway is positioned on the ground floor, featuring a round-headed arch with a rusticated surround and moulded imposts. Matching round-headed French windows are located to the left, and a canted bay window extends to the right. The northern (rear) elevation displays two gables, each with a 2-light casement window, three first-floor windows, and lean-to ground-floor additions. Spinney Hill, a separate house, is dated to the 19th century and is constructed of limestone rubble with Welsh slates. It is also two storeys and has attics. Its south elevation includes two box dormers high within the roof slope, a gabled dormer spanning half the eaves line, and a large, half-hipped, square oriel window on brackets at the first floor. French windows are present on the ground floor, and a window is blocked in the first floor of the eastern gable end. The north elevation has been altered.
