Description
The Kings Arms Public House is a public house built in 1783, which may incorporate or replace an earlier building. It has undergone alterations and additions in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure is made of red brick with a colour washed roughcast front elevation and features an old clay tile roof. The original design includes a double-pile plan with a two-span roof and two storeys.
On the ground floor, there is a central front door flanked by two 19th-century canted bays with leaded lights. The first floor has two 20th-century two-light casements. There is a red brick external stack on the southeast gable end. To the northwest, there is an early 19th-century L-plan stable block, which is roughcast and colour washed, topped with a gambrel roof. To the northeast and southeast, there are various later 19th-century and 20th-century additions in red brick.
