Description
Manor House, located in Bredon's Norton, dates from the 16th century and features an irregular shaped plan. It is a two-storey building with attics, constructed of stone and partly faced in roughcast, with a partly tiled roof and brick chimneys. The front of the house has five gabled bays, with the central and the extreme right bays slightly projecting, and a low wing on the left. The windows are primarily early 19th century wood casements, although one bay includes a stone mullioned window that has a lower four-light window and a two-light window in the attic. This house was the home of Thomas Copley, who sailed with Sir Walter Raleigh to Virginia. Inside, it contains a good staircase, panelling, and a chimney piece. Manor House, along with the gateway and barn at Manor House, forms a group.
