Description

Wollas Hall is a large, irregular mansion dating from 1611, constructed of ashlar. The building is of three storeys and features a prominent gabled cross wing and three narrower bays, each with gables over the attic windows. A two-storey porch wing projects forward, featuring a round-headed entrance with a keystone and impost blocks. Above the entrance is a mullioned five-light window, and above that, a mullioned and transomed ten-light oriel window. The porch parapet, along with all gables, is topped with finials. The cross wing incorporates a bay window extending over three storeys. Twelve-light windows illuminate the main hall. A drawing room was added to the south side in the early 18th century. Inside, a screened hall with gallery, panelling, and enriched fireplaces can be found. The building has been divided into separate ownerships. Woollas Hall, its brewhouse, stable block and outbuildings are understood as a group.
