Description

The gate pier and wall adjoining Nos 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8 to the west were built around 1877, likely designed by Richard Norman Shaw for Robert Martin. Constructed from ashlar, the wall stands approximately 5 and a half feet high and features a moulded coping. It extends westward for about 17 yards, ending in a square pier topped with a ball finial. This pier pairs with another located at the north-east end of the north quadrant wall of the main gate piers, gates, and quadrant walls situated about 50 yards east of Overbury Court. The structure is included for its group value.
