Description
Whitcombe is a house built around 1820, with later alterations from the late 19th century and mid-20th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and features two-span roofs that are covered with slate and plain tiles, complete with gable-end parapets and ball finials. There are two large brick stacks from the 19th century located in the valley of the roof. The house has two storeys and an attic, arranged in three bays. The windows have flat arches and 12-pane sashes. The central entrance is framed by an open pediment and pilaster surround, featuring a door with six raised and fielded panels and a barred segmental fanlight. There are attic lights in the gable ends. Additionally, there is a single-storey wing at the center of the right side elevation, which also has a gable-end parapet and ball finial. The main entrance has been moved to the rear of the house.
