Description

The Old Police House is a former police station, now a house, built around 1840 with later alterations from the late 19th century and mid-20th century. It features a painted brick-faced limestone rubble exterior and a plain tiled roof with end stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with windows that have rusticated lintels, stone sills, and 16-pane sash frames. The central entrance is topped by a moulded flat canopy supported by wrought iron brackets, leading to a half-glazed 20th-century door. To the right side, there is a single-storey, single-bay wing, and at the rear, a large two-storey L-shaped range. The building is prominently located next to the Village Hall and is included for its group value.
