Description
Lansdowne is an early 19th-century villa located on Port Street in Bengeworth. The building is two storeys high and features a stuccoed exterior. It has fluted Ionic pilasters on either side that extend to the full height of the building. There is a decorative band and three sash windows with moulded architraves, with the ground floor windows having balconies. The entrance has a moulded wood doorcase with a plain rectangular fanlight and sidelights, a six-panelled door, and a Doric portico. The villa also has a moulded eaves cornice and a parapet.
The former stables of Lansdowne, located nearby, date from the early 19th century and have undergone some later alterations. They are constructed of red brick and consist of two two-storey stable pavilions with pediments, each featuring a semi-circular headed recess on the first storey. These pavilions are now connected by a modern brick single-storey central bay.
Lansdowne and the former stables form a group with Nos 82 to 86 on Lansdowne.
