Description

Spetchley Hall is an 18th-century mansion, built in ashlar and designed by John Tasker. The main block features a prominent giant tetrastyle Ionic portico with an entablature and pediment, which includes an armorial carving in relief. A wide, deep flight of steps leads to the doorcase, which has a stone hood supported on consoles. The main facade has two storeys and five sash windows, each set within a moulded architrave. Side pilasters rise to moulded caps. A lower wing extends from the main block, with six windows and dormers. A Roman Catholic chapel is located within the interior of the mansion. The churchyard wall, church, and stables form a group with the hall.
